Attachment 16K3 RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - 187 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE DRIVER LICENSE BUILDING AT 725 AIRPORT ROAD SOUTH AS THE "GUY L. CARLTON DRIVER LICENSE BUILDING." WHEREAS, Guy L. Carlton served as the Collier County Tax Collector for 28 years and, as such, is the longest serving tax collector in the County's history; and WHEREAS, during Mr. Carlton's tenure, Collier County's population grew from 86,000 to 319,000, with property tax rolls increasing from $55,000,000 to over $900,000,00; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carlton successfully transitioned and expanded the operations of the Tax Collector's Office to meet the needs of our growing County by creating what is today a computer - linked network of Tax Collector Offices; and WHEREAS, as tax collector, Guy Carlton voluntarily assumed the responsibilities for driver licensing and, with the help of the Sheriff's Office and the Clerk of Courts, established a "one stop shop" for all driver license- related activities which reduced the average wait time from 3 or 4 hours to 15 minutes; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carlton's accomplishments also include the addition of the Driver License Building at 725 Airport Road South which serves as a first class testing facility and efficiently accommodates citizens seeking driver license services; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to recognize Guy L. Carlton's vision and his dedication to the citizens of Collier County by designating the Driver License Building as the "Guy L. Carlton Driver License Building." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Driver License Building, 725 Airport Road South, is hereby designated as the "Guy L.
