PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Rotary International /s an organization of service clubs known as Rotary Clubs
located all over the world. It is a secular organization open to all persons
regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or political preference with more than
32, 000 clubs and over 1. Z million members worldwide; and
WHEREAS, the stated purpose of the organization is to bring together business and
professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical
standards in a// vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world,, and,
WHEREAS, the Rotary Foundation's Group Study Exchange (65E) program /s a unique
cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeop /e and
professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of
their careers; and,
WHEREAS, the program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas
of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the
host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vacations are
practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange
ideas; and,
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Naples Bay was founded as the Rotary Club of Naples East
on March 10, 1973 with the boundaries of the area east of the western shore
of Nap /es Bay, which no longer has a set boundary; and,
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Nap /es Bay is celebrating 36 years of service to our
community; and,
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Naples Bay will be hosting the Rotary Group Study Exchange
team from Siberia, Russia on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, and,
WHEREAS, the Rotary Group Study Exchange, a program of Rotary International, /s a
unique cultural and vocational exchange; and
WHEREAS, the team consists of a Rotarian, Alexander Mo %din, plus four other non -
Rotarians, and will be in this Rotary district for a total of four weeks; and,
WHEREAS, the team will visit this district for one week, and the remaining three weeks in
a different section of the district, ranging from Marco Is /and to Bradenton,
Florida.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that April 20, 2010 be designated as the Rotary Club of Naples Boy's
ROTARY 6ROUP EXCHANGE TEAM DAY
