WHEREAS, clean, safe, and sustainable water resources are vital to Floridas
environment, economy, and its residents' and visitors' quality of
life/ and.
WHEREAS, more than 90 percent of Floridas drinki"9 water is supplied by
underlying aquifers, and our quality of life and the economy
depend upon a clean and healthy environment/ and.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, the South Florida Water Management
District, and Collier County are worki"9 together to increase
awareness about the importance of water conservation/ and,
WHEREAS, Collier County is committed to setti"9 a good example for its
citizens regarding water conservation,' and.
WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can make a
difference when it comes to conserving water/ and.
WHEREAS, the Governor and Cabinet of the State of Florida are designati"9
April - typically a dry month when water demands are most acute
- as Floridas Water Conservation Month to encourage Floridians
to conserve the states precious water resources.
NOW THEREFORE- be it proclaimed by the Boord of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that April 2010 be designated as
WATER CONSERVATION MONTH
and urge all residents and businesses to help protect our precious
water resources by practici"9 water savi"9 measures.
