PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, Bethel AME (African Methodist Episcopal) Church of Naples has
reached a great milestone and will be celebrating their 5(/h
anniversary this month: and,
WHEREAS, as they reflect on the history of the African Methodist Episcopal
Church and the history of Bethel AME Church of Naples, they
find siml1arities in the struggles parishioners faced in their
attempts to establish a place of worship: and,
WHEREAS, the theme for their 50th anniversary is ''Affirmative Action
through Christ':. and,
WHEREAS, beginning Saturday, February 27h, a Celebratory Luncheon will
take place at the Bellasera Hotel in Naples with guest speaker
Rev. John White, II of Mt. Hermon AME Church, Miami
Gardens, Florida: and,
WHEREAS, Sunday, February 2lfh the Golden Anniversary Worship Service
with speaker Rev. Paula L.ake of Mt. Olive AME Church, Ft.
Myers, Florida Will take place at Bethel AME Church located at
2935 64'h Street SW in Naples: and
WHEREAS, Bethel AME Church of Naples is thankful for the continued
support of its parishioners and for this wonderful opportunity to
celebrate their 5(/h anniversary.
NOW THEREFORE. be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida, that we congrotulate Bethel AME Church
of Naples for their
50TH ANNIVERSARY
and wish them continued success in the years to come.
