WHEREAS, Myra Janco Daniels, Founder, Chairman and CeO (If the Philharmonic Center
for the Arts has been selected to receive the 2010 Holland T. Salley
Leadership in Fostering Education (LIFE) Award; and,
WHEREAS, her distinguished service is demonstrated by her championing of formal arts
education in Collier County. The Lifelong Learning programs she has developed
at the Philharmonic are a perfect representation of her commitment; and,
WHEREAS, Myra Janco Daniels has been instrumental in developing major musical programs
in Collier County such as the Philharmonic Youth Chorale, Philharmonic Youth
Orchestra, Philharmonic Youth Symphonia, Family Fun and Learning,
Kindermusik~ Adventures Camp and Master Classes for adults; and,
WHEREAS, the School Outreach program she has initiated has allowed thousands of
students to attend a wide range of programs, such as musical theater,
historical drama, and concerts by the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra,' and,
WHEREAS, she is extraordinarily multi-talented and artistic, an author, an extremely
effective administrator; and,
WHEREAS, from The Edison State College Foundation, Myra Janco Daniels was also
selected for the exemplary citizen leadership she has provided by promoting
and supporting educational arts and culture experiences for young people in
Collier County.
NOW THEREFORE, in recognition of the outstanding contributions Myra Janco Daniels has
made to the community of Collier County, be it proclaimed by the Board of
County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that March 23, 2010, be
designated as
MYRA JANCO DANIELS DAY
