EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve First Amendment to Agreement #11-5782 with Hole Montes, Inc., to
increase the contract time for an additional three (3) years for Basin 305 of the "Wastewater Basin
Program" for additional professional services during construction.
OBJECTIVE: To extend the period for Engineer of Record construction phase services to remain in
compliance and meet the demand in Master Pump Station (MPS) Basin 305 of the wastewater
collection/transmission system.
CONSIDERATIONS: On September 11, 2012 (Agenda item 11E), the Board approved Agreement #11-
5782 with Hole Montes, Inc., to design explicitly defined and demonstrable projects as part of the
Wastewater Basin Program. The Executive Summary for that item stated that “Subse quent contracts for
construction of the required infrastructure as developed under these engineering designs, as well as
construction, engineering and inspection services (CEI), will be presented to the Board for review and
approval” (See Attachment 2).
Basin 305 designs are 80% complete and approximately 10% constructed. In Basin 305, the following
projects are ready to be constructed:

The proposed First Amendment to Agreement #11-5782 will extend the contract period for three years to
allow for additional professional consulting services during construction.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact as this amendment is requesting time only.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote
for Board approval. -SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This project is consistent with and furthers the goals,
objectives, and policies of the Growth Management Plan to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable
public facilities.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, Ex-officio the Governing Board of
the Collier County Water-Sewer District, approves the attached First Amendment to Agreement #11-5782
with Hole Montes, Inc., for professional engineering services during construction and authorizes the
Chairman to sign the amendment.
