Backup Documents 11/09/2010 Item # 4DP40 ! j PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the citizens of Collier County recognize the importonce of protecting and preserving our natural resources and working to make the world a better place by adopting conscientious living habits that will improve daily lives and bring about a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment,- and WHEREAS, America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling programs in the United States, is one day to inform and educate to get our neighbors, friends, and community leaders excited about what can be accomplished when we all work together to make recycling better 965 days a year; and, WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Division's Solid Waste Management, Pollution Prevention, and Utility Billing 4 Customer Service Departments, under the direction of the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, have worked diligently to develop a multifaceted recycling program as a way to preserve valuable landfill airspace and conserve natural resources; and, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners wish to recognize and commend the citizens of Collier County for their admirable recycling efforts, their positive contributions to the preservation of valuable landfill airspace, and for their contributions to the conservation of our natural resources. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that November 15, 2010 be designated as AMERICA RECYCLES DAY IN COLLIER COUNTY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 9th Day of November, 2010.
