WHEREAS, the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO"), is the designated planning agency for Collier County, Florida by the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged; and WHEREAS, the Community Transportation Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that coordinated transportation services are provided to the transportation-disadvantaged population in the designated service area (Collier County) and the Community Transportation Coordinator arranges for the provision of transportation services in a manner that is cost-effective, efficient and reduces fragmentation and duplication of services; and WHEREAS, the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged Competitive Procurement Manual, compiled in accordance with Chapter 287 of the Florida Statutes, and Florida Administrative Code Chapter 41-2.010 allows the MPO to nominate a governmental agency to serve as the Community Transportation Coordinator; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners was designated as the Community Transportation Coordinator for Collier County, Florida, in 1999 and continues to serve as the Community Transportation Coordinator for Collier County; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners deems it appropriate and in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare to continue in it's designated role as the Community Transportation Coordinator for Collier County. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: 1. The Board of County Commissioners requests re-designation as the Community Transportation Coordinator for Collier County. 2.
