Backup Documents 05/08/2012 Item # 4APROCLAMATION 4 A 'I WHEREAS, individuals are served each day by public servants at the federal, state and local levels; they perform the work that keeps the nation and county functioning, and WHEREAS, each year the United States President and Congress designate the first full week of May as Public Service Recognition Week in honor of the men and women who serve America as federal, state and local government employees, and WHEREAS, public employees take oaths to provide the diverse services needed by the individuals of their government with efficiency and integrity; and, WHEREAS, many public servants, including police officers, firefighters, health care professionals and others, put their lives at risk every day in service to the people of the United States; and, WHEREAS, without these public servants at every level of government, continuity would be impossible in a democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials, and, WHEREAS, Collier County celebrates its public servants this week and highlights the accomplishments of all dedicated public servants who work tirelessly on behalf of all individuals in the county and nation. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that May 6 -12, 2012 be designated as PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK DONE AND ORDERED THIS 8th Day of May 2012. mo BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA N FRED W.
