WHEREAS, Collier County Junior Deputies League, Inc. is a non - profit organization with
the mission of preparing the youth of Collier County to become responsible ,
law - abiding citizens; and,
WHEREAS, through the cooperation and leadership of the Collier County Sheriff, the
Junior Deputies program is celebrating its 50'x' year benefitting the county's
youth; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County Junior Deputies League provides numerous programs and
activities with a focus on crime and drug prevention through positive
interaction with law enforcement and the support of numerous local sponsors
and nonprofit organizations, and,
WHEREAS, Collier County Junior Deputies League owns and utilizes Camp Discovery to
provide unique primitive camping, nature study and fishing opportunities in a
natural setting for area students, youth groups and Boy Scout Troops
consistent with the original intent of the League under Sheriff Doug Hendry
and continued by Sheriffs Rogers, Hunter and Rambosk; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Junior Deputies League has hosted a free one -half day at the
Collier County Fair for 4th grade students on an annual basis for over 35
years, providing a fun day in a supervised and secure environment for over
3000 students.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that March 17, 2012 be designated as
JUNIOR DEPUTIES DAY AT THE COLLIER COUNTY FAIR
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 13th Day of March, 2012.
