Backup Documents 02/28/2012 Item # 4A4A PROCLAMA TION WHEREAS, Collier County is a proud sponsor of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), established in the County in 1990; and WHEREAS, the County offers these volunteers many opportunities in a variety of different service areas and utilizes them in the Sheriff's office, Clerk of the Circuit Courts office, public libraries, museums, Parks and Recreation, Veteran's Services and the University Extension Services office through the 4 -1-1 and Master Gardeners programs, and, WHEREAS, Collier County has 435 active RSVP volunteers who contribute 33,612 hours of service annually, representing more than $638,628 in savings for the county government; and, WHEREAS, the RSVP volunteers are an integral part of Collier County, inspiring and leading by example, motivating others to serve; and, WHEREAS, the RSVP "Celebrating People in Action ", commemorative month is indicative of the culture of service that has shaped our community, and WHEREAS, we wish to honor and thank these dedicated citizens of Collier County, who give so freely of their valuable time, energy and abilities. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that March 2012 be designated as RSVP MONTH IN COLLIER COUNTY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 28th Day of February, A Cr.
