WHEREAS, The Bay-shore Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) Festival of the Arts
mission is to provide accessible and affordable cultural enrichment for the
community, raising awareness of the need for a Cultural and Performing Arts
Center m the Boyshore Redevelopment area, with the CAPA objective of
creating o 'home" for local visual and performing artists; and
WHEREAS, Bayshore CAPA has established partnerships with Collier County Parks d
Recreation and Edison State College resulting in 14 cultural events this year;
and,
WHEREAS, CAPA and Collier County Parks 4 Recreation have created a partnership,
enabling the presentation of the Boyshore Festival of the Arts, with support
from the Boyshore Gateway Triangle CPA, incorporating 225 local musicians,
the Bond of the USAF Reserve, Casey Weston, local bluegrass guitarist,
singer, composer and finalist in NBCs "The Voice, " and an art show of local
Juried Artists free for the entire Collier County community while also
providing business opportunities to local vendors and nonprofits; and
WHEREAS, Collier County is pleased to host the CAPA Festival of the Arts on January
28th and 29th, 2012 at the Sugden Regional Park from 11 am. To 6 p. m.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florido, that .Tonuary 22 -29, 2012 be designated as
CAPA BAYSHORE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS WEEK
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 24th Day of 2012.
