Backup Documents 11/12/2013 Item # 4C PROCLAMATION 4 C WHEREAS, the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association (FFCA) has served chief fire executives since its establishment in 1958, expanding its membership to any individuals involved in fire and emergency services in 1993; and, WHEREAS, the FFCA is Florida's leading management education organization for fire and emergency services professionals, helping members maintain and develop their management and leadership skills; and, WHEREAS, the FFCA Fire Chief of the Year Award, the most important honor the Florida fire service can bestow upon one of its chief fire executives, was conceived to recognize truly outstanding fire chiefs whose acts and deeds in their profession, home, community and country serve as an example and challenge for all other chief fire executives throughout Florida; and, WHFREAS, Chief Kingman Schuldt, fire chief for the joint East Naples & golden gate Fire Control Rescue Districts, was recognized as the 2013 FFCA Fire Chief of the Year; and, WH':REAS, Chief Schuldt is a thirty-five year veteran of the fire service and currently serves as an adjunct faculty member of Broward College, First Vice President for FFCA and Florida State Director for the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs; and, WH!=REAS, he has responded to numerous large scale disasters throughout the gulf region and served as Technical Advisory for the International Association of Fire Chiefs Intrastate Mutual Aid System program, working with several state leadership teams to develop statewide disaster response plans; and, WHEREAS, Collier County is proud to be the home of Chief Schuldt and honored that he is a recognized as a leader in his field. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that November 12, 2013 be designated as CHIEF KINSMAN SCHULDT DAY in recognition of his 2013 Florida Fire Chief of the Year Award.
