WHEREAS, Keep Collier Beautiful is a non - profit organization, founded in 1996, with the
mission of protecting Collier County's natural beauty and environment through
public education about litter prevention and community based cleanup projects, and
WHEREAS, Keep Collier Beautiful is supported through public and private partnerships with
the Naples Cruise Club, Collier County Solid Waste Management Department,
Waste Management of Florida, Inc., Keep America Beautiful, City of Naples,
Choice Environmental Services, Sunshine Recycling Services, Siesky, Pilon J Wood
Attorneys, Up A Creek Paddle Tours, Naples Kayak Company, 6reencare, AshBritt
Environmental, Whole Foods, the Naples Zoo, Goodwill Industries International,
Cabana Dan's, T -Shirt Express, and Leigh Designs, and
WHEREAS, Keep Collier Beautiful and its sponsoring partners organize the annual Collier
County Coastal Cleanup in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup, and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Coastal Cleanup brought over 1, 700 residents to clean up litter
and debris from Collier County's 400+ miles of coastline and waterways, and
WHEREAS, the annual cleanup project removes nearly 15 tons of trash, litter, and debris
from Collier County's waterways, and
WHEREAS, Keep Collier Beautiful, its partners and volunteers, are dedicated to protecting
the natural beauty, unique environment, and wildlife for the benefit of our
residents and visitors.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that Keep Collier Beautiful be recognized for its volunteer efforts during
the International Coastal Clean Up on September 21, 2013.
