At the April 11, 2013 Board of Fire Commissioners' Meeting, the Board moved to
contact you to convey our desire to participate in open discussion, much as we did in
April of 2012, to discuss a Tri- District merger. The North Naples Fire Control & Rescue
District Board of Fire Commissioners applauds your efforts to consolidate and the
progress you have made to achieve that goal. Our Board is adamant that we in no way
impede your current progress or in any manner infringe upon your efforts to merge. In
fact, we are not only desirous of meeting to evaluate the feasibility and implications of a
three way merger, but to offer any support and assistance which might be helpful to
further your progress.

Re: Response to April 11, 2013 Tri- District Merger Letter
Dear Chairman Lombardo,
Allow me to thank you and your Board members for taking time to contact the
East Naples Board of Fire Commissioners on the very important issue of
consolidation. During our May 14, 2013 meeting, the East Naples Board
discussed your Board's proposal to evaluate the feasibility and implications of a
three -way merger.
The Board made it very clear that it does not have an immediate interest in
discussing a tri- district consolidation if, in anyway, might inadvertently impede
the progress and accomplishments between East Naples and Golden Gate Fire
Districts thus far. I believe your Board expressed the same sentiments. We are
on a very tight timeline and any delays may jeopardize the current efforts and
place the legislative process in question.
As such, we welcome a North Naples Fire Commissioner to participate in our
on -going meetings between East Naples and Golden Gate Fire Districts. I
remain confident that your participation in our current efforts will be greatly
welcomed and assist to establish the framework for future initiatives of fire
district consolidation in Collier County.

Gate Board of Fire Commissioners on the very important issue of consolidation. During
our May 8, 2013, meeting the Golden. Gate Commissioners discussed your Board's
proposal to evaluate the feasibility and implications of a three way merger.
Our Board expressed interest to participate in the facilitation and exchange of
information, welcoming a liaison of North Naples Commission participate in the on-
going process between Golden Gate and East Naples Fire Districts.
I remain confident that your participation in our current efforts will be greatly welcomed
and assist to establise framework for future initiatives of fire district consolidation in
