WHEREAS, the Children's Advocacy Center of Collier County (CAC) assists nearly 3,000
children who have been abused or neglected each year; and,
WHEREAS, the CAC has been dedicated to reducing the trauma to abused and neglected
children and enhancing families' ability to provide a safe environment since
1986; and,
WHEREAS, April has been declared National Child Abuse Prevention Month; and,
WHEREAS, the victory over child abuse and neglect will not be achieved without the
support of the entire community and recognition of the importance of raising
awareness to decrease incidents of abuse and support child abuse victims and
their families; and,
WHEREAS, each April, the CAC and other supporters of the Child Advocacy Movement
ask the community to join them in outreach efforts to reduce and prevent
child abuse.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that April be designated as
CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 9th Day of April, 2013.
