WHEREAS, on April 20'h and 215', the Conservancy of Southwest Florida hosts the Grant
Reopening Weekend Festival to introduce the newly renovated Conservancy of
Southwest Florida Nature Center designed to increase visibility and raise
awareness of the importance of protecting water, land and wildlife in the region;
and,
WHEREAS, the Conservancy celebrates the completion of the two-year construction project
involving the renovation and construction of new sustainable buildings, transforming
the 21 acre campus into the premier Nature Center in the Southeastern United
States; and,
WHEREAS, the Conservancy expresses its gratitude to the generous donors, businesses,
community organizations, media and the public for supporting the Conservancy of
Southwest Florida throughout its "Saving Southwest Florida" campaign and during
the Nature Center renovation; and,
WHEREAS, the community is invited to attend the Grand Reopening Festival and experience
the Nature Center, as well as the special exhibits, educational programs,
speakers, food and music throughout the weekend's festivities and to discover the
past, present and future of Southwest Florida's unique environment through the
Conservancy of Southwest Florida visitor experience.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that April 20th and 21s' be designated as
CONSERVANCY OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA GRAND REOPENING WEEKEND
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 9'h Day of April, 2013.
