Backup Documents 03/12/2013 Item # 4FPROCLAMATION 4F A WHEREAS, St. William Parish, which opened its original building in 1980 to accommodate 900 member families, has grown to over 3200 families, and, WHEREAS, in response to this growth, St. William began a seven year campaign to raise funds to build a new church, finally breaking ground in April 2012; and WHEREAS, Morton Wasmer Abraham, General Contractor, collaborated with the church and Collier County Growth Management on the project, completing it three months ahead of schedule; and, WHEREAS, the .$11 million project, which created dozens of jobs and utilized over twenty subcontractors, was flawlessly managed by Morton Wasmer Abraham; and, WHEREAS, the project is a testament to the greatly improved relationships between Collier County's construction industry and Collier County Growth Management, where efficiency and professionalism have reestablished a user- friendly approach to development, and, WHEREAS, the new church, dedicated on December 22, 2012, enhances Pelican Bay and Collier County and is an example of the successful cooperation between client, contractor and county to support growth in our community. NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that St. William Parish, Morton Wasmer Abraham and Collier County Growth Management Department be recognized for their collaboration on the church renovation project.
