EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to adopt a Resolution designating the approved North Collier Recycling
Drop-off Center, as the North Collier Recycling Drop-off Centu/John A. Yonkosky
Building.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners (Board) adopts a Resolution
designating the approved North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center as the North Collier
Recycling Drop-off Center/John A. Y onkosky Building.
CONSIDERATION: The approvcd North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center, located on the
grounds of the North Collicr Water Reclamation [<acility at 10500 Goodlette Frank Road, is the
newest addition to the Collier County Solid Waste Management Recycling Center facilities. The
North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center will be located on a (me-acre parcel purchased by the
. Solid Waste Managcment Department li'omthe Waste Water Treatment Facilities. Completion
of the new facility is scheduled filr September 30, 2011.
At its November 9, 20 10 regular meeting, the B()ard voted to designate the NOIih Collier
Recycling Drop-off Center as the "North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center/John A. Y onkosky
Building." In his more than 20 years with Collier County, Mr. Yonkosky served as the Director
of Utility Billing and Customer Service and later as the Director of the Offiee of Management
and Budget. The Board wished to name the approved recycling drop-otf center in his memory
and to recognize his many years nf service to the citizens nfeollier Cnunty.

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is legally sufficient I(lr Board action. - JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the attached
Resolution designating the approved North Collier Recycling Drop-off Center, as the North
Collier Recycling Drop-ofTCenler/.John A. Yonk.lsky 13uilding.

A RESOLUTION 0.1<' THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE NORTH
COLLIER RECYCLING DROl'-OFF CENTER AS "THE NORTH
COLLIER COUNTY RECYCLING DROP-OFF CENTER/JOHN A.
YONKOSKY BUlLDl:'llG."
WHEREAS, Collier County is planning to construct the North Collier Recycling Drop-
off Center which will be a new County-owned and operated facility located on the grounds of the
North County Watcr Rcclamation Facility at 10500 Goodlette Frank Road; and
WHEREAS, the new recycling center will provide a convcnient location for residents to
bring recyclable materials and household chcmicals for proper recycling or disposal and will
provide enhanced environmental stewardship through increased recycling, saving valuable
landfill airspace; and
WHEREAS, construction of the N0l1h Collier Recycling Drop-off center is estimated to
commence in February 20 II: and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to name the North Collier
Recycling Drop-ofT Center building in memory of John Yonkosky in recognition of his many
years of dedicated servIce to Coll]er County.
NOW, TIlEREFORF, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the North Collier Recycling
Drop-ofT Center, shall bc designated "The North Collier Recycling Drop-ofT Center/John A.
Yonkosky Building."
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 14th
day of December 20 I O.
