EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve award for Invitation to Bid (ITB) 10- 5597 for Concession
Stand Food Products to Cheney Brothers Inc. Estimated expenses of $100,000 annually.
OBJECTIVE: To identify a commercial food supplier that is able to provide the variety of food
products, packaged food and supplies for the concession stands at North Collier Regional Park,
CONSIDERATIONS: The County is interested in obtaining prices to procure food, food products
and supplies on an "as needed" basis for its concession stands at the North Collier Regional
Park where food is prepared and sold to the public, The annual purchases are estimated to be
$100,000,
Notices were sent to 91 vendor email addresses; 30 suppliers requested the ITB packages,
Two (2) "no-bids" were received and only one (1) responsive bidder submitted a bid to provide
food products, Vendors were asked to provide line item prices which were to serve as a
representative sample of the type of items the County may purchase, This representative list
was used to determine the vendor(s) who was capable of providing, the overall lowest price to
the County for the greatest number of items, Once an award is made, the County may purchase
any food item or related supplies from the awarded vendor's product line,
This solicitation award is not subject to the Board's updated Immigration Law Affidavit and E-
Verify registration as it is a commodity based purchase where no services are to be provided.
The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing staff recommFmds the award to Cheney Brothers,
Inc, for ITB 10-5597 for Concession Stand Food Products. The Parks and Recreation
Department will issue the County's standard purchase order or use the County's procurement
card to commence the purchase.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available in Fund 001 Cost Center 156314 for this service,
Revenues associated with this amount will be approximately $263,000, .
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management .)mpact associated with
this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office and is legally suffieient for Board action,-CMG
