Appointment of member(s) to Immokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency
OBJECTIVE: To appoint I mcmber to serve the rcmainder of a 4 year tenn expmng on
4/4/2013, to the Immokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency and I member to a term to
expire on 12/14/14.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Immokalee Enterprise Zone Development Agency has 2
vacancies. This 13 member committee was creatcd on March 28, 1995, ,by Ordinance 95-22 to
induce private investment into distressed arcas (0 crcate economic opportunities and sustainable
eeonornie development for designated arcas. To permit Collier County to participate in this
program, the Board of County Commissioners nominated the Immokalee Conununity to be
considered by the Florida Dcpmiment of Commerce for Enterprise Zone designation in
Resolution No. 95-248, approved March 28, ] 995. As part of the formal application for an
Enterprise Zone, the State required that a committee consisting of a broad base of citizens be
established. The committee has representation from thc lmmokalec Chamber of Commerce,
financial or insurance entities, businesses operating within the nominated area, residents living
within thc nominated area, nonprofit community-based organizations operating within the
nominated area, local Workforce Developmcnt Board, local code enforcement agency, and local
law enforcement agency. This committee also serves as the Immokalec Redevelopment Board.

Captain Tom Davis resigned on October 20,2010. The teml was due to expire on April 4, 2014,
and the nomination is made by the law enforccment agency. The second vacant position was
advertised and an application was received from an interested citizcn.

The CRNEZDA received an application for the vacancy on the CRA Advisory BOlU'd
and the Imlllokalee Entcrprise Zone Agency sent by your office.
111e CRA Advisory Committee and thc EZDA Board on December 8, 2010, were
polled by telephone and email and the local Boards voted unanimously to recommend
Daniel Rosario, 1676 Birdie Drive, Naples, FL 34120, to the Collier County
Community Redevelopment Agency Board for appointment to the eRA Advisory and
the EZDA Boards.
Mr. Rosario is 8n executive with the Seminole Casino and represents a local business
in the arca of the Immokalee AJ:ea Mastel' Plan and the EZDA. Mr. Rosario has
regularly attended the CRA Advisory Board Meetings over the past 6 months.
