_ Eurocopter is the manufacturer of the C01mty's air ambulance
helicopter. As the cXip.al equipment manufacturer, they are necessarily the sole provider
of parts for tbiSheJicopter. American Eurocopter is a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Eurocopter and.....,. sole sales representative in the United States for Eurocopter parts.
American EurQcopftlr provides a loo" discount on all parts. Work will be awarded to
American Eurocopter using County-issued purchase orders.
FISCAL IMPACf: Funds in the amount of $200,000 are budgeted for helicopter parts
fur FY 2011. The annual estim~ed cost for helicopter parts is $200,000.
LEGAL CONSIDERAJJQN3.;.This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney's
Office and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
GROWTH MANAG~ACf: There is no Growth Management Impact
resulting from this action. .
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves American
Eurocopter as the sole source provider for EMS helicopter parts for a period of 5 years
ending September 30,2015. .
