EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk,
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No, 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna f'iala
FUNCTION/EVENT: Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising Professionals of
Collier County (PRACC) Luncheon,
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with business and community leaders,
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: September 16,2010
FISCAL IMPACT: $30,00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No, 99-4] 0, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid public purpose,

PRACC September luncheon welcomes Film Festival crew
Hello members & friends -
The Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising Professionals of Collier County
(PRACC) will host its September luncheon from 11:3Bam-1:BBpm on Thursday,
September 16th at McCormick & Schmick's, 9114 Strada Place in the Mercato.
"Lights, Camera, Action"
Guests will enjoy a rare pre-season presentation by the Naples International Film
Festival's Executive Director Rowan Samuel and Program Directors Ellen Goldberg
and Shannon Franklin who will speak on the Digital Marketing Success Story of the
annual event.
Plus, our very own Film Commissioner Maggie McCarty will give an update on Film,
Video and Commercial Incentives for Southwest Florida.
***As an added treat - an independent SHORT FILM will also be shown at this
luncheon.
Registration and networking begins at 11:30am with the presentation and sit-down
lunch starting promptly at noon,

accepted with a reservation. Because of the popularity of this event and our
