EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award ITB# 10-5482R - Lely MSTlI Irrigation Reuse Water Source
Renovation to Hannula Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. in thc amount of $54,480.95.
OBJECTIVE: Recommend that the Board award ITB# 10-5482R - Lely MSTU irrigation
Reuse Water Source Renovation to Hannula Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. in the amount of
$54,480.95.
CONSIDERATIONS: An initial bid was solicited on March 23, 2010 for the Lely MSTlI
Irrigation Reuse Water Source Renovation. The Purchasing department recommended that the
package should be rebid because the mixing chamber component of the bid was bid as a lump
sum item while the other components of the bid were based on time and material. At the May 20,
2010 Lely MSTU meeting, the Lely MSTU Committee motioned to rebid the project.
On August 4, 2010, the Purchasing Department sent out 1,268 notices for ITB# 10-5482R - Lely
MSTU Irrigation Reuse Water Source. There were 50 contractors who viewed the solicitation on
e-procurement. On August 24, 2010, bids were opened and two bids were received.
Staff reviewed the bids and found Hannula Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. to be the lowest and
most responsive bid at $54,480.95. The new bid was $5,51 1.25 lower than thc original bid.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available in Lely MSTU Fund 152 and all associated project
costs are being paid by the residents in the district.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for Board action-SRT.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board award ITB# 10-5482R - Lely MSTU Irrigation
Reuse Water Source Renovation to Hannula Landscape & Irrigation, Inc., and authorize the
Chairman to execute the standard contract after review by the County Attorney's Office.
