Appointment of member(s) to the Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee
OBJECTIVE: To appointment 2 members to fill terms that expired on September 23,2010, on
the Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee had 2
terms expiring on September 23, 2010. This 5-member committee advises the Board of County
Commissioners on the budget and related matters pertaining to the beautification taxing district.
Members must be residents of the Immokalee Beautification Taxing District or a member
appointed by a business located within the boundaries of the MSTU. Terms are 4 years. A list of
the current membership is included in the backup.
The terms for Andrea Halman and William Deyo expired on September 23, 2010. A press
release was issued and applications were received from the following interested citizens:

SUBJECT: Immokalee MSTU - Recommendation to the Board for filling two vacant positions.
The Immokalee Beautification MSTU has received and reviewed two applications by the prescribed deadline for its
vacancies. The Applicants were evaluated based on the potential contributions to the Committee. All applicants meet
the criteria required to be eligible for the committee and reside within the MSTU's district boundary.
Andrea Halman resides in Precinct # 594 , has served in this committee since 2007 and has 8 excused absences in
the past 2 years. William Deyo resides in Precinct # 594, has served in this committee since 2006 and has 4
excused absences in the past 2 years.

This 5 member committee was created by Ord. No. 85-65, amended by Ord. No. 90-8 and 92-40
to assist the Board of County Commissioners in the business affairs of the Immokalee
Beautification Taxing District. and prepare and recommend an itemized budget to carry out the
business of the district for each fiscal year. Membership represents the population of the area
within the Immokalee Beautification District. Ord. No. 2002-52 was adopted on 10/22/02
changing membership as follows: 4 members shall be penmanent residents within the MSTU
and 1 member may be an owner of residential or commercial property with in the MSTU or may
be an individual, an officer of a corporation, or a partner of a partnership. Tenms are 4 years.
