WHEREAS, since 1957, the United Way of Collier County has served the county
through the funding and sponsorship of qualified non-profit agencies
which provide essential human and health services for our citizens: and.
WHEREAS, in its 54 years of service~ the United Way of Collier County~ has
grown, and is currently funding 30 non-pro(;t community agencies,
providing services to all areas of our County~. and,

WHE!R€AS. over 100,000 residents of Collier County representing one resident out
of every three, annually utilize the services of the United Ways
funded agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of Collier County continue to face challenges# resulting in
escalating demands and strained resources of the United Way and Its
partner agencies: and.
WHeREAS, the Board of County Commissioners gratefully acknowledges and
$/Jpports the critical work of the United Way of Collier County ana'
their partner agencies: and,
WHEREAS, the United Way of Collier County seeks to mobilize the caring power of
our community, bringing both residents and businesses together to
make a powerful impact by giving generously: anti,
WHEREAS, the combined generosity will strengthen and benefit our entire
community, friends, and famIlies, making Collier County a hetter place
to live and work.
NOW TH€REFORE, be it proclaimed hy the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
C()(Jnty, Florida, that the
VNITED WAY OFCOLlJER COUNTY
is formally recognized for their outstanding cantributions to the
community and wish them the greatest success in their 2010/2011
community fundraising campaign.
