EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function /event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99 -410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association /organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION /EVENT: Opera Naples Behind the Scenes Tour of New Opera Naples
Building.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with business and community leaders.
DATE OF FUNCTION /EVENT: June 25, 2010
FISCAL IMPACT: $75.00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99 -410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend function serving a valid public purpose.

This delightful evening will begin at a private yacht club
on Naples Bay. From there, we will take the trolley to view Opera Naples'
new building on Linwood Avenue. This exclusive tour offers an opportunity
to see the building before the renovation process trransforms it into the
ON Center for the Arts. While touring the building, we will also be treated
to a drop -in look at the final rehearsal of H.M.S. Pinafore.
After the tour, we will return to the'yacht club for dinner and
entertainment by the H.M.S. Pinafore cast. think tickets will he sold at the
dinner. Prices include a service charge.
