Your petition to the Board of County Commissioners will be limited to ten minutes. Please be advised that the Board will take no action on your petition at this meeting. However, your petition may be placed on a future agenda for consideration at the Board's discretion. If the subject matter is currently under litigation or is an on -going Code Enforcement case, the Board will hear the item but will not discuss the item after it has been presented. Therefore, your petition to the Board should be to advise them of your concern and the need for action by the Board at a future meeting. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Board's Chambers on the Third Floor of the W. Harmon Turner Building (Building "F ") of the government complex. To duly review the the county's half hearted attempt to circumvent the county's "APPROVED /SIGNED agreement with the department of home land security. To duly review the entire "Immigration Affidavit Certification document" and to strike the "RIDICULOUS" exceptions to the program on page 10, Their should be "NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE OF LAW" Illegal is illegal. To make the Immigration affidavit certification a complete document with signatures on each page. We believe it 6 80ecting our quality of life, our safety, the ems opportunities for all lawful citizens. and With the unemployment rate at a whopping 12.3% in Collier County, the unsustainable costs associated with illegal immigration, overcrowding of our schools, the cost of incarcerate,. the burden on our local hospitals and therefore thellrninished quality of life, in general, we firmly believe that it is unfair for local businesses- -both private and public - -to disregard the rule of law by employing illegal aliens ahead of legal citizens, allowing them to gain an unfair advantage over lawful employers and thus to pass the fiscal burden on to the taxpayers just to enhance their bottom line. We also itrmiy believe that by employing "legal workers" i�► and elimioatkV the millions of dollars in remittances sent abroad by illegals, the money earned here by legal workers will stay here and be put back into the local economy. We demand, therefore, that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners adopt and follow the U. S. Department of Homeland Security's ENERIFY PROGRAM for all businesses in Collier County, all contractors and subcontractors- -both private and public- -and to formulate stop gap measures with appropriate sanctions, including the loss or suspension of contracts or licenses for those who don't comply, and to set up a compliance task force. /k Then, and only then, will we be able to rid our community of the devastating social and economic impact of illegal immigration.
