WHEREAS, community corrections is an essential part of the justice system/
and,
WHEREAS, community corrections professionals IIphold the law with dignity,
while recognizing the right of the public to be sare-guarded from
criminal activity: and,
WHEREAS, commllnity corrections professionals are responsible for
sllpervising adlllt and jllvenile offenders in the commllnity__ and,
WHEREAS, commllnity corrections professionals are trained individllols who
provide services and referrals for offenders: and..
WHEREAS, community corrections professionals work in partnership with
community agencies and groups~' and,
WHEREAS, community corrections professionals promote prevention,
intervention and advocacy: and,
WHEREAS, commllnity corrections professionals provide services, Slip port,
and protection for victims: and,
WHEREAS, commllnity corrections professionals advocate commllnity and
restorative justice: and,
WHEREAS, community corrections professionals are a true Force for Positive
ChanQe in their communities.
NOW THEREFORE. be it proclaimed by the Board of COllnty Commissioners of
Collier County, Florida. that JlIly 1 B, 2010 throll!Jh July 24.

PROBATION PAROLE AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION WEEK
