Appointment of member(s) to Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Board
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 1 member to serve the remainder of a term following a resignation,
term expires on December 30, 2010 on the Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Board.
CONSIDERA TIONS: The Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Committee has 1 term
expiring on December 30,2010, representing the Chokoloskee area. This 5 member committee
advises the Board on the budget and operation of the Ochopee Fire Control District. Members
must reside within the taxing district. The Board should note that the applicant does not reside in
the category area, Chokoloskee, but lives in the taxing district. The Ochopee Fire Control
District Advisory Board took the category requirement into consideration, the resignation was
effective November 9,2009 and with the difficulties in obtaining qualified candidates voted to
proceed with the recommendation. Full terms are 2 years. A list of the current membership is
included in the backup.
The resignation of Ms. Darcy Kidder was received on November 9, 2009. A press release was
issued and a resume was received frorn the following interested citizen:
