EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Petition SNR-PL2010-129, Cardinal Management Group of Florida, Inc., represented by Stewart
Carter, is requesting a Street Name Change from Xeric Lane to Cardinal Way. The location is
Sabal Bay Commercial Plat Phase One, a portion of Tract R in Section 24, Township 50 South,
Range 25 East, Collier County, Florida.
OBJECTIVE:
Recommendation to approve the resolution to rename Xeric Lane to Cardinal Way.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Petitioner has met the requirements for requesting a street name change and the proposed name
does not duplicate an existing name in Collier County. Three out of four of the property owners
abutting the street in question have granted approval of the change, in excess of the County's
requirement that 66 percent of abutting parcel owners consent to the change.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Petitioner has paid the fee of $500.00 to cover staff time associated with the name change process.
The Petitioner will bear the cost of replacing the sign(s).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT:
The renaming of the street will have no impact on the Growth Management Plan.
COLLIER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION (CCPC) RECOMMENDATION:
The Collier County Planning Commission does not review street name change petitions.
LEGAL CONSIDERATION:
The proposed Resolution was prepared by the County Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for
Board action. (STW)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve Petition SNR-PL2010-129,
renaming Xeric Lane to Cardinal Way.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RENAMING XERIC LANE TO CARDINAL WAY, WHICH
STREET IS LOCATED IN SABAL BAY COMMERCIAL PLAT
PHASE ONE IN SECTION 24 TOWNSHIP 50 SOUTH, RANGE
25 EAST, COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Florida by enacting ~ 336.05, Florida Statutes,
has conferred on all counties in Florida the power to name or rename streets and roads, except for
certain state roads; and
WHEREAS, Collier County pursuant thereto has adopted Collier County Ordinance No.
07-62, as codified in Chapter 22, Article X, of the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances,
which establishes criteria and procedures to rename streets or roads; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (Board) has held a
public hearing after providing notice as required by said ordinance and has considered the
advisability of granting the application of Stewart Carter, agent for petitioner, Cardinal
Management Group of Florida, Inc., to rename Xeric Lane as depicted on the plat of Sabal Bay
Commercial Plat - Phase One, recorded in Plat Book 38, Page 81, et seq., of the Public Records
of Collier County, Florida, to Cardinal Way, as illustrated on the attached Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that all criteria set forth in Chapter 22,
Article X, have been met, specifically those set forth in Section 22-358(1) (b) as follows:
"Public notification process when renaming streets or roadways:
The applicant shall be responsible for conducting at least one neighborhood
informational meeting. This meeting shall be held 30 days prior to changing
the roadway and the petitioner is required to install street signs. The location
of the neighborhood informational meeting should be reasonably convenient to
those property owners affected by the renaming of the street and the facilities
shall be of sufficient size to accommodate expected attendance. The applicant
shall cause a display advertisement, in type no smaller than 12 point and said
advertisement shall not be placed in that portion of the newspaper where legal

notices and classified advertisements appear. The advertisement shall state the
purpose, location, and time of the meeting and shall be placed with a
newspaper of general circulation in the county at least seven days prior to the
neighborhood informational meeting."
WHEREAS, the Board finds that there is no other street in incorporated or
unincorporated Collier County with the same name or any similar sounding name as is being
requested.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Effective this date, the name of the street described in the above recitals is hereby
changed from Xeric Lane to Cardinal Way, and is confirmed as such.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be recorded in the Public Records of
Collier County, Florida, and noted upon the maps of the street and zoning atlases of Collier
County, and notations made on the referenced Plat.
This Resolution adopted after motion, sccond and super majority vote this _day of
