WHER€AS, sexual assault continues to be Q major social crisis in our society:
and.
WHeReAS. sexual assault affects every child and adult in Collier County as a
victim/survivor or as a family member, significant other, neighbor,
or co-worker of Q victim/survivor: and,
WJ.fr:REAS, volunteers and service providers in our community a~ working to
provide a continuum Df CON to sexual assault survivors through 24-
hour hot/illeS, counseling, support groups, advocacy, medical care,
and education: and,
WHEREAS, Project HELP, Inc. seeks to improve services for victims/survivors
of sexual assault and prevent future sexual assault through public
awareness and services for victims: ane/,
WHEREAS, this community recognizes the vital imparlance of designating Q
time devoted to increase the geMra/ publics awareness and support
of agencie$ providing services to rape victl/11$: amt
WHE:REAS, we hold forth Q vis/on of a community free from sexual violence,
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County. Florida, that April, 2010. be designated as
SEXUAL ASSAUL T AWARENESS MONTH
