EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Commissioner request for Board approval for payment to attend function serving a valid
public purpose.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public pUlpose for a
Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County Commissioners
has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business, environmental,
educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic, and civic
associations/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said functions reasonably
relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Jim Coletta
FUNCTIONIEVENT: Marine Corps League of Naples - Honor the Free Press Day
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with local business leaders
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: March 17, 2010

FISCAL IMPACT: $30.00 Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Coletta to attend
function serving a valid public purpose.

In addition to Mr. Lehrer we will have in attendance Lt Gen Ron
Coleman USMC (Ret) former Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps
for Manpower and Reserve Matters. Major General Mike Coyne, USMC
(Ret) who is a resident of Naples and BGen Gary Brown USMC (Ret). It
is also possible that General Charles Krolak USMC (Ret) former
Commandant of the Marine Corps will attend. We have just had
confirmation that Major General James Uvingston Medal of Honor
recipient in Vietnam will attend. There will also be many local dignities.
