EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend function/event and approve payment by
the Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal,
business, environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade,
homeowners, ethnic, and civic association/organizations serves a valid public
purpose, provided that said functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION/EVENT: Friends of Collier Fashion Show to benefit the scholarship
program to award scholarships to students at Edison College who are studying
for careers in healthcare.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with local business and community
leaders.
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: March 13,2010
FISCAL IMPACT: $30.00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance
with Resolution No. 99-410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner
Donna Fiala to attend function serving a valid public purpose.

function serving a Valid Public Purpose. Will attend the Friends of Collier Fashion Show to

in Naples, FL on March 13, 2010. $30.00 to be paid from Commissioner Fiala's travel budget.

Donna,
Once again Friends of Collier will be having a fashion show to raise money for our scholarship fund. As you
know we are the volunteers at Physician Regional Medical Center and and award scholarships to students who
are studying in the field of health' care. Thus far we have given five $1000 scholarships to nursing students at
Edison State College. We apreciate your past support and hope that you will be able to attend our fashion show
again this year. This year's show will be held March 13,2009 at Forest Glen, located on Collier Blvd. I will
email you when tickets go on sale. Looking forward to seeing you again.
