EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
To approve award of Bid No. 10-5387 for Bayshore Beautification MSTU Roadway Grounds
Maintenance (Fiscal Impact: $56,880).
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners to award Bid No. 10-
5387 for contractual services for roadway, landscape and irrigation maintenance services for the
Bayshore Beautification MSTU.
CONSIDERATION: The Bayshore Beautification MSTU is responsible for the installation,
maintenance and repair of the installed landscape and irrigation systems within the Bayshore
Beautification MSTU boundary. To maintain, replace and/or repair vegetation and underground
irrigation systems a qualified company must be retained.
This bid was posted in the lobby of the Purchasing Department on December 22, 2009. The
specifications were downloaded by 50 frrms. Six bids were received on the due date of January 15,
2010 from Admiral Builders, Florida Land Maintenance, Ground Zero, Hannula Landscaping &
Irrigation, Neal's Lawn Service, and Superior Landscaping & Lawn Service.
Purchasing and Bayshore Beautification MSTU/CRA staff reviewed the bids and recommend
awarding the bid to Ground Zero as the lowest, responsive bidder.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available in FY2010 Bayshore Beautification MSTU (Fund 163)
operating budget to cover the annual bid amount of$56,880.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners awards Bid 10-5387 to
Ground Zero and authorizes the BCC Chairman to sign the agreement.
