EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Obtain endorsement and confirmation for the appointment of Nick
Casalanguida to the position of Interim Administrator, Community
Development and Environmental Services Division.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain confirmation from the Board of County Commissioners to
appoint Nick Casalanguida to the position of Interim Administrator, Community
Development and Environmental Services Division.
CONSIDERATIONS: Ordinance 93 -72 as amended, requires that the Board confirm the
County Manager's appointment of Division Administrators. Nick Casalanguida has been
recommended for the position of Interim Administrator, Community Development and
Environmental Services Division beginning on January 4, 2010. This position supervises
the following operations: Building Review and Permitting, Code Enforcement, CDES
Operations, and Engineering, Environmental, Planning and Zoning Services. The
position is responsible for the daily administration of approximately 172 employees
working with the public, the Board of County Commissioners, and the environmental and
building communities. The position will be working from the Development Services
Building on Horseshoe Drive and is funded in the FY2010 budget.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County
Attorney's Office and is legally sufficient for Board action — SRT.
FISCAL IMPACT: Mr. Casalanguida will earn an annual salary of $119,103. Funds are
appropriated in the Community Development and Environmental Services Division
operating budget.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Board of County Commissioners endorse and confirm the appointment of Nick
Casalanguida to the position of Interim Administrator, Community Development and
Environmental Services.
