EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
COMMISSIONER REQUEST FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR PAYMENT TO
ATTEND FUNCTION SERVING A VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for a Commissioner to attend a function/event and approve payment by the
Clerk.
CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99 -410, the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners, ethnic,
and civic association/organizations serves a valid public purpose, provided that said
functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
COMMISSIONER: Donna Fiala
FUNCTION /EVENT: 29th Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet.
PUBLIC PURPOSE: Meet and interact with business and community leaders.
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: October 29, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT: $75.00 - Funds to be paid from Commissioner's travel budget.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with
Resolution No. 99 -410, approve payment by the Clerk for Commissioner Donna Fiala to
attend a function serving a valid public purpose.

29th Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet
We would like to extend an invitation for your attendance at our 29th
Annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the NAACP Collier County Branch
and to participate as an advertiser. This year is exciting for two reasons:
(1) we are rolling out our Back to School /Stay in School (BTS /SIS)
Program and (2) we are highlighting our community involvement.
The banquet, our premier fund - raiser for the year seats about 250 -300
