Pumoam a Florida Statute 318.18(13)(6) the Clerk ache Circult Court is required
to file the amount of traffic infraction surelurgm collected under Florida Sable

OMCTIVE: To meet the filing requirement established by Florida Statute
318.18(13)(6) to file, on a quarterly Was, the amount of vuarc infection surcbmges
collected under Floida Stature 3 18.18(13).
CONSWEIIATIONS: The Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinarce 2004-
43, meanest to Section 318.18, Florida Solutes, establishing a $15.00 surcharge for
traffic infractions. The surcharge was established to fiend seen court fscilitim. During
the 2009 legislative Session the Legislative amerNd Section 318.18(13) increasing the
maximum surcharge b $30.00. On July 28, 2009 the Board of County Commissionom
amended Ordinance 200443, by adopting Ordinance 200941, whicb imsemed the traffic
immuction surcbmge from $15.00 w $30.00. Section 318.18 was father smmded to
require the Clerk of Coos a submit a report ofinenues collected under this sans, with
fie Bned of County Commissioners in a formed developed by the Office of the Sam
Courts Administrator. The required submission is atachd to this executive summary.
