.'e,HBREAS, the accounts payable function in any business is an essential and serious
responsibility and carried out by dedicated individuals who manage a variety of
tasks that can include auditing accounts payable and expense reports, issuing
checks, initiating wire transfers, making debt payments, accounts receivable and
revenue collections, and
WHEREAS, the International Accounts Payable Professionals (LAPP) are committed to the
advancement of individuals in the Accounts Payable profession and provide
certification, training, best practices, webinars, the bi- monthly magazine -
Accounts Payable Matters, online tools and other leading edge resources, and,
WHEREAS, the accounts payable function for Collier County government is carried out by the
Finance department within the Clerk's Agency that successfully processes over
135, 000 invoices and processes over 45, 000 payment transactions per year, all of
which positively impacts Collier County's credit rating and business relationships,
and,
WHEREAS, the dedicated individuals throughout Collier County that work diligently in an
accounts payable environment and, in particular accounts payable staff that
provides such a valuable and essential service to Collier County government, are
recognized for the level of professionalism they bring.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that October 17 -21, 2011 be designated as
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE WEEK
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 25th Day of October, 2011.
