Appointment of member(s) to the Airport Authority Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint 1 member who is a resident of Marco Island to the Airport Authority
Advisory Board to serve a term that will expire on August 10, 2015.
CONSIDERATIONS: The 7 member Airport Authority Advisory Board was created on
March 7, 2010, by Ordinance No. 2010 -11. The Advisory Board was created to assist the Airport
Authority with all issues affecting the Marco Island Executive Airport, Immokalee Regional
Airport, and Everglades Airpark, including planning, development, and implementation of the
policies, goals and objectives of the Airports. Members of the Advisory Board shall be residents
of Collier. County with business ability and experience in one or more fields which, by way of
example, may include, but are not limited to, general business, economic development, aviation,
public affairs, law, finance, accounting, engineering, natural resource conservation or other
related fields. There shall be at least 1 member of the Advisory Board appointed from each of
the communities of Immokalee, Marco Island, and Everglades City if a qualified candidate who
resides within the respective area is available for appointment to the Advisory Board. No person
holding elected office at the State, County, or Municipal level shall be appointed to, or be a
member of, the Advisory Board. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
David R. Gardener had a term that expired on August 8, 2011. A press release was issued and
resumes were received from the following 2 interested citizens:

This 7 member authority was created on June 22, 1993, by Ordinance No. 93 -36. Members of
