o~: To identify a vendor who is able to provide the service for construction of~boat
trailer J*ll'king, boat ramp replacement and other related works.
CON~E~TlONS:The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing Departments prepared bid
documents to solicit the co.nstruction of parking. spaces and repair/replace of the existing boat
ramp at the Port of the Islands and to construct a dry storage area for boat trailer parking.
The proposed scope of work includes removing the existing ramp; repairing the base surface for the
installation of the new boat ramp; the clearing and preparing of a vacant lot; and installing fencing,
landscape, site lighting and an asphalt driveway to the new boat dry storage area.
On February 3, 2011,. the Purchasing staff sent email notices to 1,329 bidders; 84 vendors
downloaded the bid documents. The County received four (4) submissions and the bids included:

Parks and Recreation staff have reviewed the bids and determined that the low bidder was higher
than project funds thatwere allocated for the Port of the Islands boat ramp repair and boat trailer
parking lot addition. Funds will stay in the project to repair miscellaneous areas.
FISCAL IMPACT: There. is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
LEG~CONSIDERA110NS: This item'has been reviewed by the County 'Attorney's Office,
requires simple majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. - CMG
GROWTH MANA~~ IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this item.
RECOMMENDJ\JJQN: That the Board of County Commissioners reject ITB 11-5622R for the
repair/replacement of the existing boat ramp and to construct a dry storage area for boat trailer
parking at Port of the Islands.
