EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Yaneisy Camps, Administrative Captain,, Emergency Medical
Services, as the Employee of the Month for August 2011.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize Yaneisy Camps, Administrative Captain, as the Employee of the
Month for August 2011.
CONSIDERATIONS, Yaneisy Camps, Administrative Captain, has been nominated as the
"Employee of the Month" for August 2011. Yaneisy, an employee of the County for over ten
years, works for Emergency Medical Services.
Yaneisy started with the County as an Emergency Medical Technician and worked her way up
to become an Administrative Captain in August 2008. As a member of the EMS training staff,
Yaneisy assists in the development and implementation of training programs for the department.
In addition to her training duties, she has also volunteered to be part of a pilot program in
conjunction with a local clinic. This program provides weekly in -home checks for disadvantaged
persons, who require advanced, medical monitoring, but are unable to get to appointments.
Yaneisy had to complete additional equipment training to be part of this program, and she has
changed her work and personal schedules to accommodate her patients. Yaneisy also serves
as the EMS department's Critical Incident Stress Debriefing officer, and -as such has to maintain
a calm demeanor while aiding staff in the aftermath of a- tragedy. This responsibility is outside
n of her regular duties, but she still makes herself available to meet with personnel after hours, on
weekends and holidays to help them cope with the emotional aspects of their work.
Yaneisy is a valuable asset to the EMS Department and the County. She is truly deserving of
this award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the I Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of
Yaneisy Camps as "Employee of the Month" for August 2011.
