OBJECTIVE: To obtain Board approval for the appointment of 2 members to the Southwest
Florida Workforce Development Board, Region 24.
CONSIDERATIONS An inter -local agreement among Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, Glades,
and Lee Counties designates the Collier County Board of Commissioners to confirm
appointments to the Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board, Region 24, from
nominations submitted by organizations according to the Job Training Partnership Act. This
Board is a partnership between business, labor, education, community, and government services
to ensure that a skilled workforce is available to the regional economy it serves.
The Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board, Region 24, is composed of 30 members
representing the private sector, education, organized labor, rehabilitation facilities, community
based organizations, economic development and public employment service. The Board also
oversees and provides policy guidance for programs funded through the Job Training Partnership
Act (JTPA).
Mr. Joseph Paterno, Executive Director for the Southwest Florida Workforce Development
Board, Region 24, in letters dated August 15, 2011 and August 26, 2011, has requested
confirmation of the following appointments:

Jim Lamb Biography
Jiro Lamb has 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He has held roles in
operations, marketing and sales. He is currently responsible for business enterprise sales for
CenturyLink- in Southwest Florida. Jim has a. BS in Business Administration from the University
of Central Florida. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Economic Development
Council of Collier County, the CentuiyLink Political Action Committee and Gulf Coast Little
League. He is a. Leadership Collier graduate (2009) and a core member of the Naples
CentuiyLink Community Relations Team and the Maples Local Council. Jim also volunteers as
a youth baseball and basketball coach. Born in Winter Parr, FL Jim has a wife Michele, a six -
year old son .IT and a four -yeas old daughter Haley.
