EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment for the contribution of $53,447.00 to the Pelican Bay Irrigation and
Landscaping Fund (322), Program (60066) Pelican Bay Hardscape to pay for the
construction of a crosswalk.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget amendment
for the contribution of $53,447.00 to the Pelican Bay Irrigation and Landscaping Fund
(322), Program (50066) Pelican Bay Hardscape to pay for the construction of a
crosswalk.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1. On July 28, 2011 the Board of County Commissioners approved Item 16.17.4, the
award of Bid #11-5704 for the Pelican Bay Cummunity Crosswalks to Bateman
Contracting in the amount of $685,605 for the construction of fourteen (14)
crosswalks.
2. The Pelican Bay Services Division Board had originally only recommended the
the construction of six (6) of the crosswalks. Three (3) of those six (6) crosswalks
were being funded by the Pelican Bay Foundation as they facilitate pedestrian
traffic to Foundation facilities. A budget amendement was approved with Item
16.F.4 in the amount of $116,400.00 for a contribution from the Pelican Bay
Foundation for the construction of those three (3) crosswalks.
3. One (1) additional crosswalk has been approved for construction by the Pelican
Bay Services Division Board at the request of the Pelican Bay Foundation and
the Foundation has agreed to pay for this crosswalk that also services
Foundation facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT: An increase in the amount of $53,447.00 in Pelican Bay Irrigation
and Landscaping Fund (322) Program (50066) Pelican Bay Hardscape.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment for the contribution of $53,447.00 to the Pelican Bay Irrigation and
Landscaping Fund (322), Program (50066) Pelican Bay Hardscape.
