EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award ITB 11 =5696, "Paint and Related Items," to Sherwin- Williams for an
estimated annual amount of $65,000.
gBIECTIVE: To obtain approval to award ITB 11 -5696, "Paint and Related Items, to Sherwin-
Williams far the necessary purchase of painting supplies required to maintain and protect County
maintained buildings.
CONSIDERATIONS: Facilities Management uses a wide variety of paint and paint- related items, which
includes, but is not limited to, paint, paint brushes, rollers, roller poles, and solvents. These items are
required to provide the County with properly maintained facilities.
On June 14, 2011, the, Purchasing Department solicited proposals from paint and related supply
companies. A total of two hundred and fourteen (214) notices were sent out electronically, thirty four (34)
companies downloaded the solicitation packet. Those who were solicited include, but were not limited to,
Ace Hardware, Lowes, Flexbon, and Scott Paint.
Sherwin- Williams was the sole responder to the bid and it is staff's recommendation that Sherwin -
Williams is capable, qualified, and fairly price to provide paint and related supplies to the County. .
FISCAL IMPACT: Facilities Management's .expenses are estimated to average $65,000 annually. Funds
are budgeted in the Department of Facilities Management's Operating Cost Center (122240).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney's
Office, is legally sufficient for Board action and only requires a majority vote for approval —SRT.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners approves the award of ITB
11 -5696, "Paint and Related Items;" to Sherwin - Williams.
