EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment to transfer $20,103.85 remaining in the
Everglades Airpark Dwelling Project to Reserve for Contingencies to be used as match funds for
future grants.
OBJECTIVE: To utilize funds remaining in the Everglades dwelling project as match funds
for future grants.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Airport Authority received insurance proceeds in the amount of
$26,356.85 for damage to the sheriff dwelling at Everglades Airport resulting from Hurricane
Wilma. Six thousand two hundred fifty three dollars ($6,253) of these proceeds were used to
demolish the dwelling. The remaining balance of $20,103.85 is not sufficient to replace the
dwelling.
Staff recommends that these funds be transferred to Reserve for Contingencies to be used as
match funds for future grants.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is necessary to transfer $20,103.85 from the
Everglades dwelling project in Fund 496 to Reserve for Contingencies.
GROWTH IMPACT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney. It
presents no legal issues and requires a majority vote. - JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the Airport
Authority, authorize a budget amendment to transfer insurance proceeds of $20,103.85 to
Reserve for Contingencies to be used as match funds for future grants.
