EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to ratify one (1) addition and deletions to the 2011 Fiscal Year
Pay and Classification Plan made from April 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to ratiA, one (1) addition and numerous
deletions to the 2011 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan.
CONSIDERATIONS:. The County Manager's Ordinance No. 93 -72, as amended, provides that the
County Manager shall recommend to the Board current position classification and pay plan for all
positions in County service. The Board of County Commissioners has authorized the County Manager to
make additions, modifications and deletions to the 201 1 Fiscal Year Pav and Classification Plan, subject
to retroactive ratification by the Board. This occurs three times during the fiscal year — in January', April
and July. This is the third occurrence in FY2011.
Attached is the addition of the Florida Yard and Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator to the
County's 2011 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan made between April 1, 2011 and June 30,
2011 (Exhibit 1). The addition reflects new functions in the University Extension Department.
There are also numerous classifications that are being "sunset' or removed from the Pay Plan.
This is a result of reorganizations. loss of personnel due to job freezes, and reduction in force
actions, and creating cross - functional classifications through the combination of one or more
jobs leaving the previous classification unused /or not required.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorneys Office,
requires majority vote, and is legally sufficient for Board action. — CMG
FISCAL IMPACT: The results of this action will have a fiscal impact to the County for
minimal salary adjustments which are absorbed by individual departments.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board ratify and approve one (1) addition and numerous
deletions to the 2011 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan.
