EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment in the amount of $71,604.37 for Traffic Accident
Reimbursements, project 960076.1, and to recognize revenues for future repairs.
OBJECTIVE: Approve a budget amendment in the amount of $71,604.37 for Traffic Accident
Reimbursement, in Landscape Project Fund (112), project #60076.1 (Traffic Accidents and Turn
lanes) and to recognize revenues for future repairs in operating expense line (634999).
CONSIDERATIONS: The Alternative Transportation Modes Department staff coordinates with
the Risk Management Department to collect reimbursements for damages due to traffic accidents
on our landscaped medians. By recognizing revenues for traffic accidents, repairs can be made to
replace damaged plant material and broken irrigation components. The accident repairs are made
during the off - season months of April through October not to impede the traffic flow.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to recognize $71,604.37 in the Landscape
Project Fund (112) project #60076.1 (Traffic Accidents and Tom lanes) and appropriate within
the landscape operating expense line.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attomev's
Office, does not present a legal issue and only requires a majority vote for Board approval -
SRT.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT. IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget
amendment to recognize revenue from Landscape Project Fund (112), project #60076.1 (Traffic
Accidents and Turn lanes) and appropriate to the landscaping operating expense line (634999).
