PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, children are the future of Florida and it is important that we
take action to ensure that they are provided a positive start to
life. We place the utmost value on their safety, welfare and
health and we strongly support programs designed to advocate
for their best interests,' and,
WHEREAS, Immokalee High and NFL star Edgerrin James is hosting a
football camp for young people 6 to 18 years old benefiting the
children of the Immokalee area,' and,
WHEREAS, the host, Edgerrin James will share his love of football, teach
fundamentals and communicate the importance of discipline, hard
work and respect in dealing with challenges both on and off the
field__ and,
WHEREAS, the County recognizes the positive impact this NFL star has on
the youth in our community and are pleased to welcome him as an
inspiration for our youth for the third year in a row.
NOW THEREFORE. be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Col/ier County, Florida, that July 25, 2011 be designated as
THE EDGERRIN JAMES FOUNDA TION
FOOTBALL DAY IN IMMOKALEE
