Agenda 07/10/2018 Item #11L07/10/2018 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize a Budget Amendment for the Facilities Management Division in the amount of $1,500,000 within County-wide Capital Projects Fund (301) to cover necessary Hurricane Irma repair work. OBJECTIVE: To provide necessary funding to the Facilities Management Division to continue the Hurricane Irma repair work. CONSIDERATIONS: The Division of Facilities Management is responsible for the maintenance, repair, capital replacement and construction of County-owned buildings and facilities. The Division of Facilities Management is also responsible for the repair work resulting from Hurricane Irma. The repair work involves multiple projects at multiple facilities throughout the County. The current budget does not support the volume or cost of these repairs. To continue the repairs, staff is requesting a budget amendment to provide necessary funding to complete these projects. Project work will be submitted to FEMA for reimbursement. The table below represents a sampling of the many repair projects, as to date there are over 200 repair projects, the value of the projects has been determined in part by CDR Maguire and in -house inspectors. Due to the volume of repairs, there will be ongoing repair work into the next fiscal year. County Facility Anticipated Value Collier County Government Center Main Campus $622,040.00 Property Appraiser $250,000.00 Growth Management Transportation $ 75,000.00 CCSO CID $ 62,340.00 East Naples Library $168,300.00 Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch $ 56,160.00 Domestic Animal Services Complex $140,640.00 FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is necessary to establish all required appropriations which includes FEMA revenue and the Hurricane Irma expense budget in the amount of $1,500,000. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issue, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorizes a Budget Amendment for the Facilities Management Division in the amount of $1,500,000 to cover costs associated with Hurricane Irma repairs.
